- To strive for the practice, preservation and propagation of Islam as laid down in the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW).
- To strive for the unity and cooperation of all Muslims, Associations, Societies and Islamic Trusts at all times and for the better understanding and goodwill among Muslims and all other communities in Australia and in particular within the State of Queensland.
- To organise and celebrate the recognised Islamic prayers, festivals and other social functions and to help provide the facilities and places of worship to all Muslims.
- To provide help and organise educational, recreational and social activities, vocational and technical training, athletic and sporting facilities, welfare and social services and facilities for the benefit and advancement of the council membership.
- To print, publish and distribute literature for the propagation of Islam and for the benefit of the Muslim community.
- To receive, acquire and hold gifts, donations and bequests and to raise money for and engage in charitable activities including the collection of zakaat and fitrana and to distribute these funds to Muslims.
- To administer all the Council funds.
- To represent and promote peace, understanding and goodwill amongst all people, and to cooperate, amalgamate or affiliate with other bodies to attain the objectives of the Council.
